I created this handcrafted card – enjoy the journey using a wonderful digital stamp I purchased from SheepSki Designs on Etsy. They have such unique and beautifully drawn digital stamps. Make sure to check them out! First, I used reds and purples to color the stamp. Then, because I am still learning to color images, I had to use a black pen to outline the lilies. The markers I used do not blend well and they washed out the flower edges. My main focus was to keep the image vibrant and keep the eyes drawn to the stamp. The monochromatic patterned papers and the black card base ensure this outcome.
I ran across a wonderful center step card folding template on Pinterest from mariestamps.com. What a great card fold! I can think of so many ways to adjust the template to make horizontal and vertical cards of many sizes!
First, I decided to use three patterned papers on the front panels with the same patterned paper as the center front as a mat on the inside panel. The repetition keeps the monochromatic theme going! White card stock was placed on top of the center front panel and the inside panel. Opposite, matching patterned papers were used on the two side panels of the card front. Next, I used a stamp from Tim Holtz for the “Enjoy the Journey” sentiment. I love this stamp set! There is a sentiment for everything. Finally, I attached black and white twine to the top of the front panel and to a black button placed by the sentiment for a little extra embellishment.
I have submitted this card to the following challenges that I find inspiring. They all have such great design teams. Make sure you check them out!
