This handcrafted new baby card – vintage baby was inspired by a few challenges that I follow. I was so excited to discover Free Vintage Digital Stamps and even more excited to find this vintage baby stamp for free. There are quite a few wonderful digital stamps and papers available there.
I colored this image with Spectrum Noir markers. Originally, I wanted to keep the dress and bonnet white, but then I felt there was too much white! So, I went back over the dress with pinks. I added a few pink areas to the bonnet, as well. The final image pleases me so much! Finally, I used a stitched rectangle die from Tim Holtz and Sizzix to cut the image out.
The layout for this stamp was inspired by a sketch for one of the challenges listed at the end of this post. I chose two, mostly pink patterned papers to go with the color of my baby’s dress. The first background layer is a cream and pink striped paper that I inked the edges of with Spun Sugar Distress Ink from Ranger. I know I have mentioned this color before as it is one of my favorites! Then, I chose a pink floral paper from the same paper stack for the lower rectangle. The floral paper was placed on a solid pink card stock. Finally, I added a strip of vellum with a “V” cut end and stamped it with “Baby”. I chose vellum for the sentiment because I couldn’t stand covering the image!
This project was inspired by the following challenges. These challenges have such great design teams and are full of inspiration and wonderful prizes. Take a moment to check them out and even play along!
