Green Leaf Jasper Snake Wrapped in Copper Wire
This beautiful green leaf jasper snake is wrapped in bright copper wires varying in size from 20 to 28 gauge. The head of this snake measures approximately 1 1/4″ in length and 7/8″ at its widest point, contributing to the total length of 6 1/8″. Small square stones in alternating shades of green makeup the body. These stones encase a twisted pair of wires.

The sculpture’s head angles upwards slightly, creating a more snake-like character. Two twisted wires bent in an “s” shape form the tongue. These two wire securely encase the head stone of the sculpture. First, I used 20 gauge copper wires for the frame of the sculpture. Then the multiple pieces of the frame were held together by twenty-eight gauge wire.
Originally, I had planned to spiral the body of the snake; however, the shape of the green stones prohibited this shape. Luckily, I was able to add a slight curve to the body further adding to the character of this sculpture. The spiraled tail completes the body perfectly!

This snake will be available for purchase from my Etsy Shop soon! As with all of my creations, this sculpture has its small imperfections that I like to refer to as added interest.
