Imagine That Digis Guest Designer – Thursday Inspiration – Wishing Well
Handcrafted Birthday Card – Wishing Well
Woo hoo! It is time for another Thursday Guest Design Team inspiration project over at the Creative Playground Challenge blog with Imagine That Digi Stamps. This week I created a birthday card titled – Wishing Well. I just love the images, papers and sentiments available from Imagine That Digi Stamps! Take a moment and check out their store or even better, come play along at the Creative Playground! There is still time to enter the challenge and win some of these awesome products. Don’t forget there is also an amazing Facebook Group where you can play along and get extra inspiration from the great design team!
The Image and Sentiment
This week I decided to do something I have never done before. I used a pre-colored image instead of coloring it myself. The colors of the Well Wishes image were too beautiful not to showcase. This set comes with pre-colored images, uncolored images and wonderful sentiments for well wishes! Originally, I was going to make a Get Well card. I mean, it is a wishing well! However, after seeing all of the great sentiments included with the set, I changed my mind and made a birthday card. I love it!
After printing the image, I cut around the blue background and inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink. Then, I cut the birthday sentiment with my Circle Scissors and inked the edges, as well. Finally, I looped a piece of hemp cord through two small holes at the top of the circle to create a tag.
The Background
This background was so fun to make! First, I taped my new stencil from Alte New down on top of a white card blank. Next, I used brown and green Distress Inks through the stencil. I was going for a moss covered rock wall look. What do you think? The stencil wasn’t quite large enough to cover the whole card front, so I moved it over slightly and repeated the inking process on the one side. It isn’t seamless, but I think it worked out “well” enough!
The Completed Card
To finish off the card, I attached the image and the sentiment to the rock wall background I created and added a few small flowers to the sentiment tag. Overall, I am really happy with this card! I can’t wait to try a bit of texture paste through this stencil.
Remember, there is still time to come play along with us at the Creative Playground! I can’t wait to see what you create!

Very pretty Miranda 🙂 Yes, it does resemble moss-covered rock, although I’ve been drawing giraffes today so my first thought was GIRAFFE pattern, lol. But yes, it goes perfectly with this wishing well -and ♥ your pennies in the picture ;o)
Thank you, Kristy! It is funny that you mentioned the giraffe print. I saw that when I was inking up the background and I thought to myself, “This would be great for a giraffe card.”
