Handcrafted Birthday Card – Pocket Frog
It is time for a little more inspiration for the wonderful challenge over at the Creative Playground with Imagine That Digis! This week I am sharing this awesome handcrafted birthday card titled “Pocket Frog”. You really must come on over and play along with us! Don’t forget to check out the great images, papers and sentiments available from Imagine That Digis!
The Image
If you know me, you know that I adore frogs and my birthday is on the 16th of this month! So, what better projects than a birthday card with a frog in the pocket! I absolutely love this wonderful image from Imagine That Digis called Skipper’s Pocket. This image comes with so many wonderful variations, both colored and non-colored. I chose to color this image myself with a variety of Spectrum Noir markers and I just love how it turned out!
The Background and Completed Card
As soon as I saw the image, I knew that I wanted to put it on a pair of coveralls. First, I cut a piece of patterned paper in the shape of the coverall bib. Next, I cut a few pieces of the same paper for the shoulder straps. Then, I used a black Zig marker to draw stitches around the edges of the background and straps. Larger brads were used on the straps to represent snaps.
To complete the card, I attached the background to a white card base. Then, I added matching smaller brads to the pocket. Finally, I adhered the pocket to the bib, adding depth to the frog with foam dots. What do you think? Now if it were only right to give myself a birthday card! Ha, ha!
