Handcrafted Just Because Card – Jewel

Happy Friday!  It is time for another awesome challenge over at Brown Sugar Challenges and I am so excited to share this handcrafted just because card titled Jewel.  Our sponsor this week is the fabulous My Besties Digi and Rubber Stamps.  Check out their fun store for more images and don’t forget to play along with us!  This week our theme is “Embossing” and I just can’t wait to see your fabulous creations!

The Image

My Besties supplied this great image and I just think she is adorable!  I colored the image with Copics and Spectrum Noir markers.  Then, I die cut it using a Stitched Oval Die from Tim Holtz and Sizzix.  Finally, I inked the edges with Distress Ink.

The Background

In conjunction with this week’s theme, I used a swirl embossing folder on shimmer white card stock and lightly inked it with the same purple Distress Ink used on the image.  To finish it off, I added pink and purple rhinestones within the swirls.  I just love this white shimmer card stock!

Completing the Card

To complete this card, I adhered pink ribbon to the background and attached it to a pink card base measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.  Then, I added the image to the center of the card.  This time I decided not to use a sentiment on the front of the card.  Once I decide who to give it to, I will add a sentiment to the inside.  Let me know what you think in the comments below!  Don’t forget to come play along in the challenge for your chance to win and see all of the great inspiration provided by my teamies!
