Handcrafted Get Well Card - Spring Gertie Goose

April Guest Designer – Thursday Inspiration at the Creative Playground – Spring Gertie Goose

Handcrafted Get Well Card – Spring Gertie Goose

I am so happy to announce my debut as a Guest Designer for the Imagine That Digis’ Creative Playground Challenge Blog for the next three months!  I just love Imagine That Digis by Kris!  They are so unique and there’s something for everyone.  One of my all time favorite characters is Gertie Goose.  She is always around for any season.  Imagine That Digis was kind enough to provide me with the Gertie Goose Spring Collection including all three seasonal Gerties and 12 wonderful sentiments!  Also, I received the Gertie Goose Spring/Summer Paper pack featuring awesome paper selections that go perfectly with these sweet Gertie Goose digis.  I am so excited to be a guest for the next three months.  Make sure you check out Kris’ awesome images at the shop and come play along with the challenge.

The Image

As I noted above, I used an image from the Gertie Goose Spring Collection.  I just love the cute little raincoat and umbrella!  I colored the image pink, gray and yellow with my Spectrum Noir markers.  Gertie remained white with a few added shadows.  Even a shadow that was not intentional and could not be removed on her cheek.  Oh well, art doesn’t have to be perfect to be perfect!  Then after outlining the image with gray, I fussy cut the image out.

The Background and Shaker

For the background, I began with a white card base measuring 5″ x 6 1/2″.  Then I printed and cut a piece of the awesome patterned paper from the Gertie Goose Spring/Summer Paper Pack.  I just love the little yellow umbrellas.  Then, I stamped and heat embossed a bunch of raindrops in a rainbow of colors on a piece of white card stock.  Next, I die cut a Stitched Oval Frame from Tim Holzt out of a piece of white craft foam and adhered a piece of die cut acetate to the top.  Finally filling it with a rainbow of sequins before attaching it to the rainbow raindrop background panel.  Say that five times fast!

The Sentiment

This sweet sentiment is just one of the great ones that came with the Gertie Goose Spring Collection.  I just love this sentiment!  I printed the sentiment and adhered it to another small piece of the Spring Paper.  Then, I added a few of the rainbow sequins with Glossy Accents.

The Completed Card

To complete the card, I adhered Gertie to the front of the acetate with Scor-Tape, as well as the sentiment.  Then I used Glue Dots to attach some silver thread and white flowers on the right of the shaker window.  I just love how this card turned out and this image is too sweet!  She was so much fun to color!  Who doesn’t love a good shaker card?

Come join us at the Imagine That Digis Creative Playground for your chance to win!  There are also wonderful games played often and an awesome Facebook Group.  I can’t wait to see your projects!
